Utah Symphony in Huntsville Park

As part of Utah Symphony’s Music Elevated Forever Mighty’s State Tour, we are proud to host the Symphony on August 7 in Huntsville Park. The concert is free for those who wish to attend. Keep in mind there is limited seating avaiable. Book a seat HERE!


The program features two internationally acclaimed (and Utah-based!) singers. Soprano Madison Leonard and baritone Shea Owens will perform a wide collection of Broadway, opera, and American folk music—plus, hear favorites ranging from Aaron Copland’s Hoedown and Simple Gifts to John Williams’ Theme from Jurassic Park.

Celebrate the Symphany Festival

Mountain Arts and Music Organization is partnering with Utah Symphony to present educational and participatory workshops prior to the concert

Schedule:

4:00-6:30 | Instrument “Petting Zoo.” in Huntsville Square behind IDK Barbecue. Get hands on with a variety of Instruments and have fun. Summerhays music will accompany.

4:00 - 5:00 | Fiddle or Violin? Learn the variety of sounds and styles played this versitile instrument. Classical techniques can be transferred to almost any genre of music.

4:00 - 5:00 | MASTER CLASSES: Symphony musicians will host master classes which will involve technique, play along opportunities, practice ideas and impart the wisdom of professional musicians. Bring your instruments! This is a sign up opportuntity. RSVP HERE!

5:00-6:00 | ALL ABOUT CONDUCTING: On the Huntsville Park stage. Learn the basics of conducting with Utah Symphony Associate Conductor Ben Manis. This is a free interactive workshop.

6:00-7:00 | Music Q&A. Get the inside scoop of inner workings of an orchestra and the life of a professional musician.

6:00 - 7:00 | SYMPHONIC MOVEMENT on Huntsville Park. Move to symphonic music with Ogden Valley dance expert Deja Mitchell.

7:00 - 8:15 | Food Trucks and outdoor concert with The Proper Way at Compass Rose Lodge.

8:15 | GRAND FINALE: Utah Symphony Concert!

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind event! We hope you and your family will participate in these fun activities. Keep in mind the day will likely be hot, so bring sun protection and stay hydrated. Evening may cool quickly so bring a light extra layer of clothing. First Lift Coffee and Food trucks will be open and available for food.

HALO Observatory will also host a free star party at Compass Rose Lodge after the event. Compass Rose Lodge is avaiable for hotel room accomodations if you wish to stay afterward.
